  2. Why world missions? • It’s the command of our Risen Lord Jesus: • Matthew 28:19 • Mark 16:15 • Luke 24:46-47 • Acts 1:8

Why world missions? • It was God’s plan from the beginning: • Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18; 26:4 • 1 Chronicles 16:8,24,31 • Psalm 22:27-28; 67:1-7; 86:9; 98:2-3 • Isaiah 2:2-3; 11:10; 42:6; 45:22; 49:6; 52:10; 56:7; 66:18-20 • Daniel 7:14 • Zechariah 2:11; 9:9-10 • Luke 2:32 • Acts 10:34-36; 17:24-27

  4. Why world missions? • It’s the example of Apostle Paul: • Acts 9:15; 13:47-48; 14:27; 15:12,14,17; 26:23; 28:28 • Romans 1:5,13; 3:29; 9:24,30; 15:9-12,16; 16:26 • Galatians 3:8,14 • Ephesians 3:6 • Colossians 1:27

  5. Why world missions? • It’s the heart of God: • John 3:16-17 • 1 Timothy 2:1-7; 4:10 • It’s God’s will for his people: • 1 Peter 2:9,12

  6. How can we participate in world missions? • Receive the Holy Spirit (Ac1:8) • Pray for all people (1Ti2:1-4) • Build a new community & mindset (Eph2:14-22; Gal3:28; Col3:11) • In daily life, imitate our Lord Jesus, who incarnated among people (Jn1:14), and Apostle Paul, who became all things to all people (1 Corinthians 9:19-23); feed Jesus’ sheep (Jn21:15) • Give financially to support missions (2Co8-9—class #6) • Write letters/visit the mission field (like Apostle Paul) • Discern God’s leading through the Spirit and go (Ac13:2-3)
