  2. Creed • We the members of the Student Government Association, promise to do our best and to do our duties at all times. We promise to unite under all circumstances for the common good of the students. We will engage in critical thinking to bring the best outcomes from abroad. We will conduct the proper decorum in all meetings. We shall respect one another with respect for one another’s regards and wishes. We promise to make decisions that will promote the common good and stability of the Student Government Association. We will provide centralized leadership, in which we will establish the student viewpoint.

  3. Memberships • The Charles Herbert Flowers Student Government Association is an affiliated member of the Prince George’s County Regional Association of Student Governments, the Maryland Association of Student Councils, as well as the National Association of Student Councils.

  4. SGA in Action • Since its inception the Student Government Association (SGA) has developed and implemented a number of community service and school service activities.

  5. Community Service • These activities consist of: • Thanksgiving Canned Food Drives • Christmas Toys For Tots Drives • Drug Awareness Days at local elementary schools • Nursing Home Visits • Community Clean-Up Days • Clothing Drives for the Homeless

  6. School Service • These activities consist of: • Flowers Clean-Up Days • Black History Today Program • Future Leaders Training Workshops • Student Empowerment Forums • Dare to Be a King • Dare to Be a Queen

  7. Student Moral • A major task of the SGA is to bring about and maintain positive student moral. For this purpose the implementation of student based and tailored activities is a key goal. These activities range from Homecoming Dances and Class Nights to Apollo Nights and Poetry Cafés.

  8. The Student Government Association is made up of students excited not only about academics and leadership, but also serving others. It is the goal of this organization to encourage all students to strive for their best and to achieve at their greatest potential.
