  3. What is diversity? • Five HACC special needs groups - Aboriginal, culturally & linguistically diverse, dementia, rural & remote, financial disadvantage (inc homeless or risk of homelessness). • Age, socio-economic disadvantage, gender, faith & spirituality, and sexual orientation.

  4. Why do diversity planning? • Annual DHHS requirement – diversity plan due 12 September 2015 • Links to national standards and the Active Service Model (ASM) • Good practice • Better client outcomes • Whole of organisation diversity plan

  5. How do we do HACC diversity planning? • Understand our target population • Understand our client population • Compare our target & client populations • Identify groups not accessing our services • Identify the barriers to access • Develop an action plan
