S17834 Enhances AMPK Phosphorylation in HepG2 Cells

S17834 increases AMPK and ACC phosphorylation in HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Serum-starved HepG2 cells treated with S17834 showed elevated phosphorylation levels.

S17834 increases phosphorylation of AMPK  and ACC in a concentration-dependent manner in cultured HepG2 cells. A. Serum-starved HepG2 cells were exposed to increasing concentrations of S17834 (2.5–25 M) or vehicle (DMSO) for 1 h. The phosphorylation of AMPK and ACC as well as the expression of total AMPK2 protein were immunoblotted. B.Phosphorylation levels of AMPK and ACC are expressed as fold stimulation over the basal phosphorylation level, mean  S.E. (n=3). *P < 0.05 compared with vehicle control.
