  3. Cloud Computing Models • Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) • Provider users with processing, storage, network and other computing infrastructure resources. The end user has no control over the infrastructure, but maintains control over Operating Systems and Applications • Platform as a Service (PaaS) • Software as a Service (Saas) • Provides users access to applications running on cloud infrastructure from various devices.   4. Infrastructureas a Service (IaaS) • Cloud providers build datacenters • Power, scale, hardware, networking, storage • Cloud users rent storage, computing power, and maintenance from cloud providers Bp Sunshine Summit 2014

  5. Platform as a Service (PaaS) • From developer’s point of view (i.e. cloud users) • Cloud providers offer an Internet-based platform to developers who want to create services but don't want to build their own cloud Bp Sunshine Summit 2014

  6. Software as a Service (SaaS) • From end user’s point of view • Apps are located in the cloud • Software experiences are delivered through the Internet Bp Sunshine Summit 2014

  7. Cloud Delivery Models • Private Clouds • Usually operated solely for one medical center or a group of medical centers. They can be maintained by the organization or by a third party and may be located on or off premises. • Public Clouds • Are open to the general public and managed by a cloud service provider. • Community Clouds • Infrastructure that is shared by organizations and supports a specific community.
