You remember your cost. • Peter explains that Jesus paid a high price for our souls. • “You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body” (1 Cor 6:20). • Heb 10:28-29. • Take time to consider carefully what Jesus has done for you.
You respond to truth. • You purified your souls by obeying the truth. • You need to be baptized for the remission of sins. • “God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered” (Rom 6:17). • Make sure you’re obeying truth: • Examine yourself. • “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves” (2 Cor 13:5). • Examine what you believe. • Paul thought he was doing right. • “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day” (Acts 23:1).
You relish the brethren. • Peter says that love for the brethren is evidence of the different life. • How much do you love your brethren? • 1 Cor 13:1-8a • Spend some time with 1 Corinthians 13 doing some soul-searching.
