  3. Welcome! Today’s Goal: celebrate our success, learn and continue to build engagement, prioritize our work for next year

OurExpectations Develop more clarity of our processes Good turn out Being in our community/our peeps Reaching clarity on what to work on Increase consciousness about advocacy tools and the digital divide Having common ground while exploring new ideas Laugh and have fun Stay engaged after today, specifically w/out priorities Be open to process improvements Plant seeds and not hold expectations against others

  6. Comfort Agreements Take care of yourself Make sure everyone has a chance to speak Lots of perspectives, so be open to others Respect opinions that may not match with yours. All opinions are valued (like the “I’m a little bit country and you’re a little rock and roll” Things/intentions are good, come from our best selves Give people space, use the name tent down if you want space Think about those not represented, those that are not here Remember our focus on addictions too

NOTES: Purpose of Committees: • Bring recommendations to OHA and OCAC • Enhance the process for the OCAC • Ability to research and do work • Opportunity to do more focused work and stay connected between OCAC meetings • Ability to bring in subject experts and learn more • Committees bring focus to individual goals and to written recommendations • Hone in on specific goals and do R&D for specific recommendations • Increased sense of community Going Well • Meeting our goals • A lot of research and recommendations • A lot of cooperation and positive energy • Relationship building • Bringing rural and urban communities • More consistent participation now • Working w/system (OHA) (also needs to be in improvement) • Timeliness (also needs improvement) • Participation good in subcommittees • Grant proposals for joint projects • Champions of interests • Outlet to support one another and share grief and solutions Needs Improvement • Meeting reminders for committee meetings emailed • Increase participation of more than 50% of entire OCAC members on committees • Change one to Tools & Technology • Add houselessness to housing committee • Include emergency response to a committee • Communication-how to communicate in rings (inner group, outer group and bigger outside) • Development committee: locate OCAC meeting on road a few times a year and/or one OCAC meeting at Peer Apocalypse in a public forum • Development committee: identify criminal justice, addictions, refugee/immigrant • Stick to written work plan and use it, include implementation and action steps • Having a committee minute template and training for those doing the training to support them • Change housing committee to a wellness committee: healing and practice/alternatives for wellbeing, moving PDS there too (combine PDS, Housing • Rename TIC to Trauma informed Systems • Possible third committee w/criminal justice • Orientation to champion and cochampion role • Emphasize and foster new members to be on committees • Continue w/new orientation activity

Suggested Activities: Wellness & Healing Practices Committee (WHP) Sign Ups for Committee: Carolyn Kevin Kris Laura Rose Alverda Sally Caroline Mark • Focus on Peer Run Organizations (such as drop in centers) • Develop alliances w/other advocacy agencies/groups • Advocate for increased wages for PDS • Advocate for Medicaid/Medicare waiver to include more alternative modalities such as naturopathic, acupuncture, music therapy, art therapy etc. • CPSS defined by peers-including job titles, scope, duties to maintain fidelity • Educate housing and houselessness provider of benefits of PDS • Work on peer respite and parent respite • Focus on peace • Include blood testing benefit-to include vitamins, recognizing the connection between vitamin D & C w/depression • Provide training on what Alternative healing is • Develop inventory of what alternative benefits are now offered and where • Outpatient PDS

Suggested Activities: Tools, Technology & Access (TA) • Request OHA technology staff time • Make policy recommendations regarding subsidies, increased funding, use of best practices and technical assistance (for increased technology use), include rural areas • Recruit younger people to OCAC & subcommittee • Increase use of higher technology tools for meetings and OCAC work, utilize current OHA tools • Be an ambassador/generator/incubator for use of technology in OHA • Review affordability & education for using technology and internet • Presentations of dashboards/registries (such as the behavioral health mapping tool) to OCAC Sign Ups for Committee: Kevin Mark Laura Rose Caroline Kris

Suggested Activities: Trauma Informed Services (TIS) Sign Ups for Committee: Laura Rose Mark Caroline Kris Grace Kevin Alverda • Advise OHA on issues of: re-entry from justice system, suggest/recommend programs and program evaluation • Identify committees within OHA and criminal justice services that need peers represented, connect peers to those committees • Advocate for peer support as a component of jail diversion • Increase understanding of trauma: what it is, how to talk about it, how to increase knowledge, particularly for hospital employees • Encourage and support OHA leadership with lived experience (in criminal justice system) • Influence step down process from being institutionalized to other end of continuum • Continue site review work from past years • Continue state trauma policy update work • Include discussion of culturally specific trauma in conversations about trauma

Suggested Activities: OCAC Development • Expand meetings to have some “on the road” outside of Salem • Request behavioral health chief attend all OCAC meetings • Continue supporting mentors for new OCAC members • Accept applications all the time (throughout the year) • Develop method to get input from quiet people, how can we be more inclusive? • Require that all OCAC members be on a committee • Clarify and develop our OCAC processes • Develop committee orientation • Develop templates • Create application in multiple languages • Increase OSH representation • OHA Director at OCAC meeting once a year • OHA use their communications office to promote/highlight OCAC • Add bios of OCAC members • Develop our own communication messages about OCAC Sign Ups for Committee: Caroline Sally Kevin Kris Mark Laura Rose Carolyn Ken
