  2. Once at iaee.blackboard.com, click on User Login

  3. Type in your username (email address) and your password – if you have forgotten it, then just click on the “Forgot Password?” link

  4. Your list of courses will be on the top right. Your name will appear at the top. Quick tutorials are located below your courses. All of your course announcements will be displayed here.

  5. These are your course navigation buttons that give you access to different areas of the course. Please take the time to explore and become familiar with them. This is the first page of your course – it will have all of the course announcements. It is your responsibility to check this page often for new updates and information.

  6. This is how you will access each week’s content. Your first task is to click on TAKING AN ONLINE COURSE. Then, you will need to move on to Week One content by clicking on the WEEK 1 button. For future weeks, you will only need to click on the week’s corresponding button.

  7. This is what a Learning Unit looks like. Each week’s content will be broken up into multiple Learning Units. (Usually titled with the Week # and Part __ of ___). In order to access it, click on the name. Hint: It is very important to click “Mark Reviewed” AFTER you are sure that you have read and understood all of the information in the Learning Unit.

  8. Each Learning Unit has multiple pages which you can navigate through by clicking on the arrow button at the top right.

  9. Most of the Learning Units have at least one activity – most often a Discussion Board Activity. After you read the instructions, click on the link at the top in order to “jump” to the Discussion Board thread. Hint: Always make sure that you are on the last page – if not, come back to this section after the activity in order to view the rest of the content.

  10. Click on the Discussion Board Thread Hint: Remember there are TWO steps for each Discussion Board activity: #1. Post your response to your instructor’s question#2. Reply to another Student’s post. You will not get credit for the activity unless you complete both steps for every Discussion Board activity.

  11. After reading the question that your instructor posted, click Reply at the top of the screen. After posting your answer, then read another’s post & click the Reply button located in their response box.

  12. Do not change the subject line. Simply type your answer and/or response in the message box. You also have the option to attach a file. Click SUBMITT when you area done (NOT Save)

  13. After clicking on Submit, you will be able to see your post on the Discussion Board. Clicking OK twice will take you back to the main Discussion Board windo.

  14. From here, click back on the Taking an Online Course button so that you can finish the last step for this section. Hint: This will be the same procedure for each activity. You will need to click on the Week’s button to go back to the content.

  15. If you tried to access Week One content by clicking on the WEEK 1 button before going back to Taking an Online Course, you will not find anything in it because you still need to mark the previous section (Taking an Online Course) as Reviewed.

  16. Click on the Mark Reviewed button (Be sure to only do this once you are sure that you have read and understood the content – by marking it as “reviewed” you will be responsible for that information.
