  2. Personal Profile Sister Elizabeth Kenny was born on September 20th 1880. She died on November 30th 1956. In the 40’s Sister Elizabeth Kenny wrote articles and visited the United States. Three years after Sister Elizabeth Kenny’s death her supporters made a Sister Kenny foundation. Sister Kenny has a movie named after her that was formed in 1946. Elizabeth Kenny was born in New South Whales. When she was 18 years old she began training as a nurse in Sydney. Before completing training as a nurse she returned to a small hospital that she had opened in the Downs. She returned to Australia in 1919 after having been wounded, receiving a British War Medal for her services. Sister Elizabeth Kenny was buried in Nobby cemetery and her supporters said she would always be remembered.
