  22. NIC’s NIC’s are countries whose economies have not yet reached MEDC status but are out developing similar countries NIC’s are usually undergoing rapid economic growth (usually export-oriented). NIC’s usually share some other common features, including: • Increased civil rights • Strong political leaders. • A switch from agricultural to industrial economies • Increasingly free trade with countries in the world. • Large international corporations setting up in the country. • Lowered poverty rates. • NIC’s often receive support from outside organisations or other countries.   25. Dividing the World • The world is often divided into the following; • Rich Industrialised Economies • e.g., Germany • Oil Exporting Economies • e.g., Saudi Arabia • Indebted poor countries e.g., Jamaica • Former communist countries e.g., Russia • Newly Industrialised Countries e.g., Malaysia
