(1 sentence answers will only receive less than 50% credit) PART 1- ANSWER ALL 6 QUESTIONS • 1. How was the Holy Land (the place the religion began) important place for all three monotheistic faiths? • 2. The three major monotheistic religions are sometimes described as branches of the same family tree. How would you describe the trunk of the tree? (where did they come from, how did they begin) • 3. How are the three major holy books of the monotheistic faiths both similar and different? • 1. Book 1- similar/different • 2 Book 2- similar/different • 3. Book 3- similar/different • 4. How are the beliefs of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam that are the same? • 5. What types differences exist with the 3 religions? (1 difference for each) • 6. What beliefs of the three religions make them different? PART 2- CREATE 2 QUESTIONS AND ANSWER THEM * CREATE 2 QUESTIONS YOU COULD ASK THE PROPHETS ABOUT THEIR RELIGION OR OTHER RELIGIONS AND WRITE THEIR ANSWERS

Part 2- * Economic- describe one thing about the economy (money/trade/resources) and find an image • Intellectual- describe one thing about their ideas (inventions/science/technology) and find an image • Political- describe one thing about their politics (government/laws/rules) and find an image • Social- describe one thing about how they lived (religion/homes/eating/language) and find an image

Why do you think symbols like a name or mascot are so important to the people of the city? Why would it be important to the students? • 3. What are two goals you could recommend the new principal to consider when opening up the new school? • 4. Identify two challenges that principal may have in achieving those goals? PART 2 (IMPORTANT PART…) • 5. How does this controversy relate to the development of the Byzantine Empire? (REMEMBER- THEY USED IMAGES THROUGH ART TO REPRESENT THEIR EMPIRE, THE CHURCH DIDN’T LIKE ANY IMAGE THAT WASN’T RELIGIOUS) • 6. How does this controversy differ from issues in the Byzantine Empire? (DO YOU THINK THIS IS SIMILAR TO ISSUES OF PICKING A SCHOOL MASCOT, THERE ARE ALWAYS PEOPLE YOU NEED TO MAKE HAPPY???)
