A Peek at Next Week in… 2ndGrade Sept. 8-12 Wish List Upcoming Events We will list any special request items here that we might need for class projects or experiments • 9/ 9: Fall Fundraiser kick off • 9/10: Spirit Night at Mooyah • 9/11: Reading with the Eagles • 9/15: Room Parent Meeting • 9/19: Spirit Night at Taco Cabana • 9/23: Watch DOGS Night 6-6:30 Back to School picnic 6-7:30 • 9/26: Rise & Shine: Beach/Griffith Reminders Please purchase a class t-shirt. We will all wear these for important class events and on Spirit Wednesdays. Please return the Field Trip & Family Survey forms ASAP. Math • We are comparing and ordering numbers this week. We will use greater than and less than symbols and review greatest to least and least to greatest. Reading & Soc. St. • We will learn Strategies Good Readers use: Checking for Understanding, Tuning into Interesting Words, and Cross Checking Technology Spot Light Word Work Website to Check Out http://www.arcademics.com/ Fun games reinforcing academic concepts. • Spelling Rule: if you hear /k/ at the end of a word it can be made by ck, k, or c. See this week’s Spelling List for rule details and examples of the rule.
