  4. Prevailing Concept about Major Sin and Hell

  5. Which one is correct? If a Major sin is present in the account (AmalNama) of a Mu’min in the Day of Judgment, he will have to suffer punishment in Hell- • for ever • for a period proportional to his sin and after that he will go to Paradise for ever. • don’t know

  6. Consideration of the Prevailing concept about Major (Kabira) sin and Hell

  7. Common sense (Allah gifted general knowledge)

  8. View point-1 • View point of increment in the number of wrong-doers

  9. Which one is correct If the Mu’mins having grave sins in their account can go to Paradise for ever after a temporary period in Hell fire, then the number of wrong-doers in society will- • decrease • increase tremendously • remain same • difficult to say

  10. So in this view point of common sense the prevailing concept about KabiraGunah and Hell is not correct.

  11. View point-2 • View point of worldly Islamic punishment

  12. In Islamic law, for guilty Muslims there are provisions for the death penalty (permanent punishment) in certain crimes.

  13. So, according to common sense it is not illogical that Muslims with major crimes in their accounts in the Day of Judgment will receive permanent punishment (Hell) in the next world.

  14. The Islamic Principle of acquiring correct knowledge is-

  15. Any subject Primary decisionby using Common Sense (Allah-gifted general knowledge) {or Science (Allah gifted special knowledge)} Final decision by assessing the Primary decision with the Qur’an (Allah gifted root proved knowledge) If not possible, Final decision by assessing the Primary decision with the Sunnah(Allah gifted proved knowledge)

  16. If not possible, final decision by matching the Primary decision with Izma or Qias. The more factual one will be accepted

  17. So it can be said primarily thatMu’mins having KabiraGunah in their accounts at the Day of Judgment have to remain in Hell fire permanently.

  18. Al-Qur’an

  19. There are four types of statements in the Qur’an which indicates the duration of stay in Hell fire of a Mu’min having Major sins in his account in the Day of Judgment.

  20. A. Statements narrating the duration of stay in Hell-fire of a Mu’min having unspecified grave sin in his account in the Day of Judgment.

  21. Fact-1

Meaning: If you can remain away from the major ones of the things you are forbidden to do (Major sin) , We shall expel out of you other sins and admit you to a place of great honour (Paradise). (Nisa/4 : 31)

  23. Explanation: It can be deduced from the statement that those who will have Major sin in their accounts in the Day of Judgment shall not enter Paradise.

  24. Fact-2

Meaning: Those who will remain away from major sins and shameful deeds but not from the small sins, for them your Lord’s forgiveness is far-reaching. (Nazm/53 : 32)

  26. Explanation: It can be reasonably deduced from the statement that there shall be no forgiveness for those who will have major sins in their accounts in the Day of Judgement.

  27. Fact-3

(Nisa/4 : 17, 18)

  29. Meaning: Allah accepts the Taoba (repentance and prayer for forgiveness) of those who do evil in ignorance and then offer Taoba soon afterwards. Allah’s mercy is for them. As Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.

  30. And the Taoba of those (among the believers) will not be acceptable who continue to do evil until death comes and then say, "Now I offer Taoba.” And (Taoba is also) not for those who die as unbelievers. For them I have kept ready the most grievous punishment.

  31. Explanation: Here it is declared that all sins (except deception of people’s right) of believers will be forgiven by Taoba. But that Taoba must be offered immediately after sin is committed or at a justifiable time before death.

  32. It can be deduced from here that major sin of a Mu’min will not be forgiven if he dies without offering Taoba. That is, believers having majorsins in their accounts at the time of death has to remain in Hell fire permanently.

  33. B. Statements of the Qur’an narrating the duration of stay in Hell fire of a Mu’min having a single grave sin in their account in the Day of Judgment.

  34. Fact-1

... ... ... ... ... (Nisa/4 : 92, 93)

  36. Meaning:Never should a believer kill a believer except by mistake… … … … … … … … … … … … … and the person who kills a believer intentionally, his destination is Hell and he shall remain there for ever … … … … …

  37. Fact-2

  38. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... (Bakara/2 : 275)

  39. Meaning: … … … … … … … but Allah has permitted trade and forbidden interest . Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, refrain, shall be pardoned for the past. Their case is for Allah. But those who repeat are companions of the Fire. They will remain there for ever.

  40. From these statements of the Qur’an it can be understood that believers having a single major sin in their accounts at the Day of Judgment have to remain in Hell fire for ever.

  41. C. Statements of the Qur’an narrating the duration of stay in Hell fire of a Mu’min on the basis of Summation of deeds

  42. Fact-1

(Mu’menun/23 : 102, 103)

  44. Meaning: Then those whose (summation of) good deeds will be more they will attain salvation. But those whose (summation of) good deeds will be less (zero), they are those who have harmed their souls. They shall reside in Hell permanently.

  45. Fact-2

  46. Teachings of the ceremony of the rituals Salat, Zakat, Sawm and Hajj-

  47. In these rituals if a single obligatory (Fard) function is missed then the entire ritual becomes unacceptable to Allah. That is, the summation of all correctly performed functions will be zero.

  48. From these Allah (ST) and Prophet (S) have let us know that if there remain one fundamental (major) error (sin) in the account of a Muslim in the day of Judgment then the summation of all his good deeds (Sowab) will become zero. And so he has to live in Hell for ever.
