  5. Christian’s and God’s Enemies • God’s enemies are Satan and the world • John 15:12-25 Jesus’ friends – those who do what He commanded and keep His Word. • Christians are not of the world, but chosen OUT of the world. • If one is robed in the identity of Christ, then the world who hates Him reacts to His presence. • I John 2:15-17 Believers’ enemies: • The lust of the flesh • The lust of the eyes • The boastful pride of life

  6. Christian’s and God’s Enemies • James 4:1-4 • Friendship with the world is hostility toward God • The world’s friends are God’s enemies • Do we adopt the world’s philosophies, morals, goals, thinking and appearance standards?

  7. The Belt • Possibly symbolizes a man’s strength • Isaiah 40:31 …Lord will renew their strength.. • Phil. 4:13 …Christ Who strengthens me • Strengthen: endunamoo: to impart ability, to empower, MAKE able • 2 Tim. 4:16-18 The Lord stood at my side and gave me strength • 2 Cor. 12:1-10 “My power is made perfect in weakness.”

  8. God’s Strength • Perfected in the Christians’ weakness • Sometimes God allows believers to be weak so that His strength is seen • Paul could boast in his weaknesses because the power of Christ dwelt in him. • The same is true of all believers
