  2. What is green? Green means looking after the natural world.

  3. Green Olympic • Green Olympics is one of the three main concepts of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. • The goal of Green Olympics is to organize the Olympic Games with the concept of sustainable development of protecting the environment, resources and ecological balance.

  4. Green Olympic in Hong Kong • Date:8th August,2008 • Place: Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian Venue (Sha Tin)

  5. A number of training arenas are converted from the Hong Kong Sports Institute and Penfold Park. Training Arena

  6. Dressage is often called “equestrian ballet”. The horse is required to perform set movements, or freestyle to music, demonstrating close partnership with its rider.  Olympic Equestrian EventsDressage

  7. Jumping requires the horse to jump and clear a series of obstacles, aiming for minimum penalties incurred and completion within a set time. Jumping

  8. Eventing comprises Dressage, Cross-Country and Jumping, with the winners decided on minimum total penalties. The Cross-Country test requires the horses to clear a series of natural obstacles on a set course within the optimal time. Eventing

  9. Our Suggestions:(Recycling and Reuse of Environmentally friendly Materials) • Put more recycling bins around the equestrian venues. 2. People are encouraged to use their reusable forks in the canteen. No take away services will be provided so as to reduce the use of packaging.

  10. 3. Use washable boxes as lunch boxes. 4. Use the old magazine paper and newspapers to wrap the souvenirs bought.

  11. Conclusion We are proud of Hong Kong, because Hong Kong can join the Olympic Equestrian Events. Hong Kong did a lot of preparation works such as recycling of stable wastes and reusing green energy . We look forward to seeing Olympic Equestrian Events in August 2008.
