  2. AutoWord • AutoWord (formerly known as Autoclause) • Released in 1995 • Primary Solicitation/Contract Generation tool for 13 years • Temporary solution until HQ delivered an agency-wide tool • Has not been updated since the Part 45 changes last summer • Labor intensive to update templates

  3. The CMM Experience Clauses out of Sequence! Solicitation/Contract Drafting has not been the most pleasant experience for those that tried last year

  4. The CMM Experience Cont’d

  5. PRISM • PRISM • Check-list based system, Section by Section • Limited “local” prescriptions with a 2-clicks approach to get to the full FAR/NFS prescription • Fixed “clauses out of sequence” issue in November • Changes/edits outside system vs. in-system • Remember - Just because it looks different doesn’t mean it’s wrong

  6. PRISM Cont’d • Generated *RTF file Differences • No Table of Contents • No Headers/Footers (No Page #’s, No Solicitation #) • No section breaks between UCF sections • By reference clauses are all currently numbered (e.g. I.1 thru I.67) • Unique Clauses – currently “ugly” such as SECTION # CONTRACT SPECIFIC ADDITIONAL CLAUSE #

  7. The Plan • Phase-out Autoword over the next few months • Revamp GSFC Sections L&M into a few word files that can be merged into the PRISM generated document • Local GSFC Clauses • 12 are currently in CMM • 17 are now UCF Completion Statements in CMM • Remaining are awaiting NFS changes or may need to be added back to the local database • Start mini-training sessions over February and March (likely 2 hours)

  8. A Friend is Gone Autoword 1994-2008
