  3. Rohypnol is the brand name for flunitrazepam, and it is also a central nervous systemdepressant.Rohypnol is also called a “roofie.”

  4. The effects of Rohypnol begin within a half-hour, but don’t peak for almost two hours.High doses lead to a sleep from which the user cannot be woken, and the effects can last from 4-24 hours. Rohypnol also causes serious blackouts.

  5. Rohypnol is also known as the “date rape drug.”

  6. Inhalants

  7. Inhalants are drugs that produce a quick, temporary high; lightheadedness; and ageneral good feeling when their fumes or gases are breathed.

  8. This high only lasts for a brief period of time, and is almost always followed with negative side effects, like nausea, headache, or drowsiness – which last for twice as long.

Potential effects of inhalants • impaired physical coordination and mental judgment • severe coughing, • painful inflammation • nosebleeds • feelings of severe weakness and dizziness • heart palpitations. • mental confusion • hallucinations • respiratory depression causing unconsciousness, coma, or even death • sudden sniffing death (SSD) – even for first time users • fatal irregularity of heartbeat (arrhythmia) or complete heart arrest • poor memory • extreme mood swings • seizures • severe, pounding headaches

  11. Prescription Painkillers(OxyContin, Percoset, Vicodin) • Prescription painkillers are controlled-release medications intended to provide extended relief of pain for serious health issues

  12. Prescription painkillers are highly addictive.

The most serious risk associated with painkillers is respiratory depression. - As a result, it should NEVER be taken with other depressants, including alcohol, antihistamines (like some cold or allergy medication), barbiturates, or benzodiazepines and should only be used properly with a prescription.

  15. Steroids are manufactured testosterone-like drugs that are usually taken to build muscle, enhance performance, and improve appearance.

  16. Steroid abusers often exhibit the following symptoms: • Rapid weight gain • Rapid muscle development • Acne flare up • Fluid retention • Yellow tint in the eyes and on skin (jaundice) • Mood swings, depression • Aggressive behavior • Premature balding
