Review of today’s goals • Understand the Green Energy Act and what it means for you • Review the costs and benefits of various renewable energy technologies • Get independent advice from the experts – not salespeople! • Learn from real case studies in buildings that have implemented renewable or alternative energy projects • Decide whether renewable energy is a good FIT for your building

What we covered • First: conserve and improve energy efficiency • - good ROI • - safe investment • Understanding renewable energy sources and alternative energy sources • Caveat emptor (buyer beware) • - know your suppliers, etc. • But should also carpe diem (seize the day) • Utility model or ownership? • Building “FIT” will be need and site specific

  6. Economics • Economics make sense and are improving: • Cost of materials/installation dropping as manufacturing and installations increase as a result of Green Energy Act • Could equal a 20% drop in costs • Prices of non-renewable energy sources will increase – it is inevitable

  7. Not “if” – “when” It is only a matter of time before conventional energy costs surpass renewable energy costs
