  4. YouTube Timeline 2005-2007 • February 2005 founders register the domain • April 23, 2005 first video is put on YouTube • March 2006 filtering program is launched • July 2006 100 million views per day, 65,000 new vids every day

  5. YouTube Timeline 2005-2007 cont. • October 2006 Google buys YouTube for 1.65 billion • June 2007 mobile site is launched

  6. YouTube Timeline 2008-2010 • October 2008 15 hours of videos are launched every minute • December 2008 HD videos are available • April 2009 they are given the Peabody award • October 2009 YouTube receives 1 billon views per day
