A continuación verán algunos templos de México que presentan las características de la arquitectura religiosa latinoamericana; considerados monumentos coloniales, los estilos que predominan son el renacentista, el manierista, churrigueresco, gótico y barroco. • Existe una crónica de que muchos de ellos fueron levantados sobre edificios prehispánicos y el material de construcción utilizado fue de las mismas ruinas. Estas construcciones en su época simbolizaban la ciudad y su desarrollo económico, ya que conjuntaban la riqueza de la Corona, de la Iglesia y de los particulares.
