Overview of 2012 Grant Awards Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
2012 Community Development Grant Projects • Athens Hocking SWD (MRF) – Horizontal Auto-Tie Baler with 5 tons per hour capacity. • Delaware County (Special Venue) – Vertical Baler with accessory materials. • Fairfield County (Drop-off Recycling) – 3500 Lift gate Truck, Forklift and two Pro-tainer 20 cy drop-off containers. 2012 Litter Cleanup Grant Projects • Hamilton County & Keep Cincinnati Beautiful – State Roadway Cleanup and Citywide Collection – Longtime partnership between the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County – Advertising, Gloves, T-shirts and Collection/Safety Equipment. • Lawrence Scioto SWD – Promoted grant opportunity and assisted in receiving six separate Litter Cleanup Grants for its jurisdiction. Promotes enforcement and coordinates efforts with court officials. Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
2012 Market Development Grant Projects • Franklin County & Frank Road Recycling Solutions (Processing) – McCloskey C50 Mobile CDD Shredder with capacity of 282 tons/hour. • Lorain County SWD & Quality Blow Molding (Manufacturing) – Material Blending System, Granulator and Blow Molding Systems. • Summit/Akron SWMA & Greenstar Recycling (Processing) – Two Ram Baling Unit, Air Drum Separator (ADS) and Forklift. 2012 Scrap Tire Grant Projects • Jackson Township & Liberty Tire Service (Processing) – Material Blowing System and Scales for more efficient bulk transportation versus Super Sacks. • Portage County SWD (Tire Amnesty) – Financial support to conduct tire amnesty collection events in partnership with 18 townships, villages and cities within the county. Grant funds pay for 40 cy containers and proper disposal. Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

2013 Community Recycling Grant – WHAT’S NEW! • Formerly the Community Development Grant • Focus on Curbside Recycling, with additional funds • Increased funding ceiling for Drop-off Recycling • Removed Litter Collection component from this grant • Added Aluminum and Paint as Targeted Materials Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

2013 Community Recycling Grant - Reminders • Eligibility - an agency of the state, as established by the ORC, which may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college or university, solid waste management district or authority, park district and health district • Fifty percent (50%) cash match must be available and expended on those allowable costs directly associated with the approved project • Maximum grant period of 12 months Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
2013 Litter Collection & Prevention Grant – WHAT’S NEW! • Totally new grant with the combination of the former Litter Cleanup Grant and Tire Amnesty Grant • Requires a ten percent (10%) cash match • Maximum grant period of 12 months • Expands Litter Collection funding from 3 months to 12 months • Creates Litter Prevention & Awareness option • Provides additional funds for Tire Amnesty Collection projects • KOB options available and supportive of litter awareness Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

2013 Market Development Grant – WHAT’S NEW! • Merged the non-paving civil engineering, manufacturing and processing portions of the former Scrap Tire Grant into the Market Development Grant funding option • Removed paving engineering as a fundable option. We no longer pay for the paving of roads and running tracks. • Added Aluminum and Paint as Targeted Materials Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

2013 Market Development Grant – Reminders • Eligibility - an agency of the state, per the ORC, which may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college or university and solid waste management district or authority. Applicants may sponsor multiple private sectors businesses or non-profit organizations, who are located and registered to conduct business in Ohio • On hundred percent (100%) cash match must be available and expended on those allowable costs directly associated with the approved project • Maximum grant period of 24 months Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
