  4. What Is Corrective Exercise Corrective exercise is an approach where an assessment is used to determine specific weaknesses and/or limitations of the individual. This assessment drives the programming process, where a systematic and progressive approach is used to reduce the likelihood of injury and improve performance. – Mike Robertson • Typically for Preventing Injury - Not Physical Therapy • Ideal for Pain Management, but Can Reduce or Eliminate Pain • Exercise That is Focused on Improving the Function of the Body where Baseline Function has Been Lost. – Steve Long • Should be Focused on Finding the Individual Weakest Link of the Person and Training to Eliminate Dysfunction or Asymmetries • Can Take Over Where PT Ends

A Screen or Assessment will • Determine Your Risk for Future Injury • Show You Your Weakest Links • Allow a Qualified Fitness Professional to Make a Determination of Where You Should Begin, and Determine What You Can and Can Not Do

EVERYONE needs corrective exercise as part of a well rounded fitness program! It’s your responsibility to yourself and our healthcare system to be proactive about your health.
