  5. Budget 1. Food cost has gone up with inflation, besides last year Rs 24.00 was allocated for food per child in the school which calculates to Rs. 20.054 per child after factoring in the cook’s salary. To keep the quality and nutritional value of the food, the budget is asking for Rs. 24.00/child. 2. The minimum wages in state of Rajasthan for year 2008 were Rs. 73.00 and Rs. 132.00 for unskilled and skilled labor respectively. The minimum wages have been increased to Rs. 100.00 for unskilled and Rs. 150.00 for skilled labors respectively, and the teacher salary should commensurate with the minimum skilled wages. The teachers spend 24x7 with the children visiting their homes over weekends on rotation, given the conditions this budget is asking for teacher salary of Rs. 5000.00/month which we believe is reasonable 3. Government of India has declared a state of sever drought in 247 districts of northern India, this includes the district of Chittod. The inflation in Market due to the drought has also caused increase in some cost for year 2009 in the budget.
