Future DTS Enhancements • Special Circumstance Travel – FY 2009 • Introduce 29 special circumstance travel trip types not previously functional in DTS • Permanent Duty Travel – FY 2010 • Facilitate military members’ ability to conduct Permanent Duty Travel (PDT) • Provides an on-line interface to process travel orders • Estimate expenses • Make PDT travel reservations for member and authorized dependents • Route for review and approval • Make payments to military members

Future DTS Enhancements (continued) • Enhancement Release– FY 2010 • Variety of improvements identified through change requests • Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) – FY 2011 • Implement recruit travel module • Usability/Deployment Travel – FY 2011 • Range of improvements identified in the Usability Review • Deployment Travel Functional Requirements Document (FRD) approved September 2008

Special Circumstance Travel Release • 29 trip types beyond typical TDY travel added to DTS including trips in the following categories: • Patient travel • Emergency travel • Dependent travel • Student travel • Special TDY with normal rules • Transportation reimbursement only • Per diem reimbursement only • Altered entitlement calculations • Student travel

New Functionality • Selecting Special Circumstance trip type displays • Secondary selection list of specific SCT trip types • Items on list will vary depending on traveler’s profile • Information page with details of eligibility and entitlements • SCT conditional routing • DTA Maintenance add/update routing element • Other • Airport preference • Other Transportation in flow control • Frequent renter/guest • Customer Identification Code (CIC)

Using DTS for Permanent Duty Travel Facilitates military members’ Permanent Duty Travel (PDT) • Provides an on-line interface to: • Make PDT travel/lodging reservations for member and authorized dependents • Capture/calculate PDT allowances to receive timely payments via split disbursement • Provides DoD with the ability to: • Import/originate PDT travel orders (Authorizations) • Automate accounting transactions for PDT • Automate PDT accounts receivable processing • Automate approval and certification of travel claims

  10. Types of PDT Incorporated in DTS • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) • PCS with TDY en route • Accession Travel* • Separation • Retirement • Local PDT moves involving Dislocation Allowance (DLA) and Personally Procured Move (PPM) * Note: This does not include MEPS travel.
