  2. America The word America makes me think “freedom” “safe” “awesome” Let us no forget The challenges people have met. Those who stood up for them selves Those who saw light in the darkness And those who don’t give a crap about opinion and break tradition That’s what makes America, America. That’s why I’m proud And every country has its flaws But nobody’s perfect and they got to work it again and again till they get it right Sound familiar, yea even the girl that sang it is very far from perfect But forgiving and trying to forget is what moves you forward Focus on what’s happening now that’s positive Stop complaining and be glad that you have a roof over your head And that you have a bed to sleep in And that you’re fed Lots of people in other countries don’t have that If sumiko was proud of her family Why can’t you be proud of your extended family ( the USA) So rise above the formal “I wish” And start saying “I have” keep calm and love the USA - Original poem/persuasive writing by Brittany Okweye
