In this economic analysis project for Cal Poly Pomona, we assessed replacing old computers with Dell and HP options, focusing on obsolescence, depletion, and deterioration factors. Challenger 1 (Dell Vostro) costs $896 per computer, while Challenger 2 (HP xw4600) costs $1545. With HP winning in the comparison, our sensitivity analysis showed that HP outperformed Dell in all scenarios. HP emerged as the best option due to high productivity, despite costing more upfront. Labor costs, maintenance fees, and annual productivity decreases were considered in the comprehensive evaluation.
