  2. A thermometer is an instrument that is used to measure temperature.

  3. The temperature tells us how hot or cold something is.

  10. The lines inbetween are usually counted by twos. However, you will always want to check to see if this is true for the thermometer you are reading. F 90 80 80 Here is how we check: 78 76 74 72 70 70 Choose one of the marked lines and begin counting by twos until you get to the next marked line. If the number you say matches the number on the marked line then you know the lines on the thermometer are counted by twos. 60
