This presentation outlines a cost-effective redesign proposal for an experimental hall at a physics meeting. The focus is on reducing costs without compromising detector quality. The new design suggests a smaller vertical tunnel diameter, resulting in potential cost savings. Detailed studies recommend adjusting the detector position for optimal performance. Final cost estimates are provided in Japanese yen.

Jan.10, 2004. 2km meeting TK New 2km hall design • Introduction • New design • Cost estimate
Introduction • We are requested to think about a cheaper experimental hall. • On the other hand, we do not want to down-grade the detector design without any serious studies. • A smaller diameter vertical tunnel was considered. Original: 17m diameter New: 15m diameter (at the bottom) 13.5m diameter (except for bottom)
Introduction K.Kaneyuki, Aug.20, 2003 OA2.5o • Detailed beam MC study suggested the previous detector position is not the best detector position. • Should be about 2m deeper (and 50cm to the north). SK 2.5o 2.452o F/N SK/2.5o SK/2.452o Neutrino energy (GeV)
