This means that drivers wanting to go through the town do not have to go into the centre and create traffic problem. The pink line shows how a road could be built to bypass Tornton. The building of the bypass will involve building through fields, and some trees will have to be cut down. Why might people disagree with the route of the bypass? Building the bypass will cause a certain amount of damage to the countryside, as it will be built through fields and woods, and the machinery will create pollution. BUT… It will reduce the amount of traffic in the town centre of Tornton, which will reduce the amount of noise and pollution that the residents have to put up with.
