Isaiah 5: 1 I will sing for the one I love a song about his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hillside. 2 He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop of good grapes, ...7 The vineyard of the LORD Almighty is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the garden of his delight.
v2: he looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit. v7 ... he looked for justice, but saw bloodshed; for righteousness, but heard cries of distress. v5: Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it will be destroyed; I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled.
Psalm 80: Return to us O God Almighty, look down from heaven and see. Watch over this vine, the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself...then we will not turn away from you, revive us and we will call on your name...make your face shine upon us that we might be saved
