  1. Safety in the Science LabEVERYONE’S RESPONSIBLE!!! By: Dalton Dickson

  2. Entering the Lab -After entering the lab, wait for the teacher to give instructions, and then listen to them thoroughly. -Do not touch anything on the table unless told to do so by the teacher.

  3. Fire Safety -Fire rules: Tie long hair back while working with fire. -Always remove any jewelry, excess clothing , etc. -Make sure there is a fire extinguisher handy, just in case.

  4. Chemical Safety -Chemical Rules: If there is a spill, tell your teacher immediately. -Make sure you know what chemical your working with.

  5. Animal Safety -Always wear the proper equipment when handling animals .Exp. You must where gloves while holding Rosie, or Mrs. Hunt’s tarantula. -When handling animals, you run the risk of an accident. It is then your responsibility to clean up after them.

  6. Safety Equipment -Wait to be instructed by the teacher to know what equipment you’ll need. -Most of the time you’ll wear an apron, safety goggles, gloves, and other common protection items.

  7. Behavior -Behavior Rules: Don't horseplay or fool around. -Don’t do anything not told to do by the teacher.

  8. Starting Activity -Start the activity only when told by the teacher. -After you’ve started, keep a steady pace. Don't get off task or let the other members do all the work, especially when timed. -If you don’t agree with or get along with another group member and/or partner, don't be afraid to ask the teacher to switch. Remember, they don’t bite.

  9. During the Activity -Continue the activity as instructed. -If there is ANY lab accident, immediately tell the teacher. DO NOT take care of it yourself. -If there is a fire, tell your teacher. -The same thing goes with chemicals spills. Remember: DO NOT be this guy

  10. Cleanup -After the project is done, clean the area. -The more you clean up, the less Mrs. Hunt has to.

  11. Finishing -When your done, wait for the teacher look at your table . -After your teacher gives your table its grade, wait for dismissal.

  12. Enjoy your next class!!!
