  2. Definition • A specific good that is shared and beneficial for all (or most) members of a given community • “The greatest possible good for the greatest possible number of individuals."

  3. 3 Essential Elements • Respect for persons • Social welfare • Peace and security

  4. Contributors • Aristotle- “An eye is only a good eye in so much as it can see, because the proper function of an eye is sight”
