  3. Opt In Status • A total of 114 of 115 LEAs have opted in to use the instructional tools within Home Base (99%) • A total of 54 of 128 charter schools have opted in (43%)

  4. Key Updates • For 2014-15 there is no charge for the use of all components of Home Base. • Note– if you have not opted in, but would like to use the optional components of Home Base for 2014-15, please opt in at http://forms.ncpublicschools.gov/home-base/home-base-opt-in

  5. Schoolnet • Classrooms, Assessment and Data & Reporting functionality • Recently upgraded to new release (16.0) • Increased speed in the use of features like searching for items, rubrics, passages, and instructional materials • Ability to hide test content until start of test • New options for generating answer sheets • Improvements to ScanIt • And more… • Full release notes available in Schoolnet (click “Help” and “Release Notes” under “Additional Guides”)

  11. Assessment Items Future Present Over 35,000items in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science, and Social Studies Additional items, including multiple item types (approximately 60,000 total items will be available for teacher and district use in the 2014-15 school year) 11

Historical data • Historical data has been loaded into Schoolnet: • Dibels(2012-13 and fall 2013-14) • TRC (2012-13 and Fall 2013-14) • EOC (2012-13) • EOG (2012-13) • CTE (2012-13) • ACT Benchmark (2012-13) • ACT Plan (2012-13) • The ACT (2012-13) • This will allow educators to see, analyze and run reports on classroom, district and state-level test data all within one application.

  15. OpenClass Collaboration and Course Management Tools 15

OpenClass • Offers teachers an online vehicle for organizing course materials and sharing with students • Offers flexible space for delivering multi-media assignments to students, and receiving uploaded student work • Enables creation of collaborative documents • Offers space for “threaded” online conversations (student-student and teacher-student)

  17. PowerSchool Integration • Your Home Base OpenClass campus will be integrated with PowerSchool, which will allow single-sign on access • This integration will also allow roster to push over from PowerSchool into OpenClass so you do not have to add courses, students or teachers

  18. To Access OpenClass • If your district is not already set up, please contact the Home Base Support Center to help facilitate setting up / activating your OpenClass campus. • The Support Center staff will work to set up your district so that you can access and use OpenClass

  19. Training on OpenClass • Trainings have been rolling out in waves, with 70+ districts/charter schools already trained. • All opt-in LEAs that have not already been trained will receive training on OpenClass. • More information on those trainings will be shared soon.

Professional Development (PD)State & Local Functionality Truenorthlogic Professional Development (STATE) • Enables alldistricts and chartersto utilize existing PD resources in a more sophisticated software platform that connects Educator Evaluation to PD • Better tracking and reporting of State-offered PD • Enables Opt-In districts and charters to utilize expanded functionality to manage both State and local-PD content, tracking, reporting, etc. • Better tracking of State-offered andLocal PD Truenorthlogic Professional Development (LOCAL) 20
