  5. Buses were desegregated b/c they dealt with interstate trade • James Meredith- 1st black to enroll in the U. of Mississippi • He faced a lot of harassment but it was a major step

  6. JFK & Vietnam • He organized a coalition govt. to resolve peace in Indochina • JFK sent in “military advisors” to assure that peace would be accomplished
