The wajib acts are: • Niyyat (Intention) • Takbiratul-Ehram (The first “Allah Hu Akbar”) • Qiyam (Standing) • Qira’at (Reciting Surah-Hamd and another Surah) • Ruku (Bowing) • Two Sajdahs (Prostration with forehead, knees, palms, and big toes touching the ground) • Dhikr (Recitations in Sajdah and Ruku) • Tashahud (Recitation while sitting down in the 1st and last rakaat) • Salam (Recitation of salutation after Tashahud) • Tartib (Praying in sequence) • Muwalat (Praying without any interruption or gap)

  3. Rukn and Ghayr Rukn • Ruknacts are the foundation. If you miss or add them on purpose or by mistake, the salat is batil. • Ghayr Rukn acts are not the foundation, but they are still wajib. If you miss or add them on purpose, your salat is batil. But if you miss or add them on mistake, your salat is not batil but you have to do Sajdah-E-Sehv.

There are 4 types of Qiyams: Qiyam during Takbiratul Ehram, Qiyam before Ruku, Qiyam during Qira’at, and Qiyam after Ruku. Qiyam during Tabiratul Ehram and Qiyam before Ruku are Rukn.
