HERTEL–NEW YORK LINE • Customer’s request: 1,100 MW interconnection with New York City • Impact assessment completed in 2012 • Connected at the border to the Champlain Hudson Power Express project that runs to the Astoria substation near New York City • 320-kV (50 km) underground direct-current line between Hertel substation(La Prairie) and the Canada–United States border • Addition of a capacitor bank at Des Cantons substation (184 MVar) • Scheduled commissioning: fall 2017 • Currently in the draft-design phase

DES CANTONS–NEW HAMPSHIRE LINE • Customer’s request: 1,200-MW interconnection with New England • Impact assessment completed in 2010 • 300-kV (75 km) direct current line between Des Cantons and Franklin (southern New Hampshire) substations • Construction of two 600-MW converters at Des Cantons substation • Increase the thermal rating of two 735-kV lines between Lévis and Nicolet substations • Capacity: 1,200 MW • Scheduled commissioning: 2017 • Currently in the draft-design phase

SAINT-CÉSAIRE–BEDFORD LINE • Customers’ request: ensure the reliability of the region’s power supply and interchanges between Québec and Vermont/New England • Impact assessment completed in 2010 • 230-kV (35 km) line between St-Césaire and Bedford substations, initially operated at 120 kV with a capacity of 225 MW • Commissioning: 2014 • Project under way
