  1. Bellwork: • Copy: There are four ways to structure a sentence: simple, compound, complex, or compound-complex. • Copy: A simple sentence = one independent clause. A compound sentence = two independent clauses joined by punct/conj. • Ex. [Energy is part of youth], but [both are quickly spent]. • Underline the subject(s) once and the main verb(s) twice in the following sentence. Identify all clauses. Then, identify all parts of speech: “My middle-aged body is sore; my middle-aged face is wrinkled.” Arthur Becomes King 11/10
