In response to the increasing issue of problem gambling in Tennessee, this program aims to provide specialized training for counselors and professionals, focusing on assessment, treatment, and recovery skills. The goal is to establish a comprehensive gambling training program, increase the number of trained and certified professionals in the state, and promote a solution-oriented counseling approach. The plan includes collaboration with gambling counseling agencies, funding proposals, and certification processes based on national gambling standards. Participants will learn best practices for treating problem gambling, including co-occurring disorders, crisis interventions, and family strategies. Ultimately, the program seeks to address the addictive behavior of problem gambling and offer support to individuals struggling with this issue.
