Who volunteers? • For each meet we need one volunteer (18 years and older) per family to work one shift, which is one half of a meet. Even if your child doesn’t swim in any meets, you are required to volunteer to work one half of one home meet. What do we do? (you have already chosen your preferred positions) • All meets: pit parent, timer, ready bench, runner, stroke judge, corner judge, ribbons, scorekeeping, data entry, equipment transportation • Home meets only: concessions, swim shop, meet set-up, announcer, starter, parking attendant Where and when do we do it? • Check in at the volunteer board by 6:30 a.m. on the day of the meet. Then make sure you go to your assigned area 10 minutes before your appointed start time. How does it work? • Fill out the meet attendance sheet each week (located in your child’s swim folder) • Make sure you fill out the volunteer information at the bottom of the meet attendance sheet, which indicates which parent is volunteering at that meet.
