    8. Fluid from the accumulator transmits the power to the wheels.

    9. The fluid drives the hydraulic motors to turn the wheel. During braking, the wheel drives the motor and charges the accumulator with energy.

    10. The INGOCAR is driven by a new Hydrostatic Powertrain with Energy Storage. How it works: The engine pumps fluid into an accumulator to store the energy which drives the car. It will be turned off when the accumulator is charged. The pressurized fluid drives hydraulic motors, one in each wheel. During braking, the motors are reversed to pumps, recapturing the entire braking energy and recharge the accumulator with the pressurized fluid. Benefits: The small free-piston engine operates very clean and efficient at constant power and speed - and the wheelmotors recapture the entire braking energy. In addition, the powertrain is very light and small, reducing the power needed to drive the car. Both, the lower weight (-920 lb) and very efficient use of energy, reduce the fuel consumption and emissions drastically.
