  1. 6 Methods for Jaw Pain Relief

  2. Jaw pain, which is usually linked withTMJ (Temporomandibular joint) disorder, is a condition commonly experienced by most adults.

  3. Symptoms include pain around the ear, headaches and tenderness of the jaw.

  4. So here are some techniques to reduce those discomforts

  5. 1.Soft Diet Soft foods allow the jaw to rest and not work so hard. Avoid eating any tough and difficult to chew meals.

  6. 2.Cold Relief Use cold packs for less than 15 minutes to numb the pain and reduce the swelling around the jaw.

  7. 3.Moist Heat Put a warm, damp towel against the jaw to improve blood circulation and decrease the pain.

  8. 4. Jaw Exercises Massage the muscles on the jaw line to relax the muscles. Close and open your mouth gently without letting the top and bottom contact. This method increases your range of motion and blood flow around the jaws.

  9. 5. Relaxing Deep breathing, yoga, meditation and perhaps counseling will help reduce stress.

  10. 6.Over-the-counter Pain Relief Panadol or Nurofen are short-term relief for jaw pain. Topical pain treatment may include gels or mouth swabs containing Benzocaine.
