Elimination Of Violence Against Women By The TDP Government N Chandrababu Naidu the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh believed in strict implementation for the overall development of society. During his tenure, the government of Andhra Pradesh made many changes regarding the betterment of society in many ways. One of those Top TDP Achievements is “The Prevention of violence against women’’ across the state. Chandrababu’s Commitment to Women's Welfare: ● A State Women's Commission has been constituted to monitor all matters relating to constitutional and legal protections for women and to review existing laws.

  2. ● For the first time in the country, the state government has introduced a comprehensive policy to effectively combat the exploitation of women and children. ● To provide compensation to women victims of rape Rs. 50 lakhs have been set up as a rehabilitation fund. ● 81 Children's Homes and 6 Collegiate Homes have been established to provide free accommodation, food, and educational facilities to girl students. ● 30 centers have been set up to provide accommodation and training to orphan women, working women, and old women. ● The government encourages NGOs to set up and run additional facilities such as short-term shelters, daycare centers, and ambulatory medical facilities for elderly women. 215 NGOs are working in these fields with grants from the Government of India. ● The government has introduced a comprehensive scheme called 'SwayamSiddha' to increase women's

  3. self-reliance and empowerment by making the state's resources more accessible. The scheme is for 3,800 groups in 38 selected blocks ● Implementation is underway. These groups undertake economic, social, and other activities at the village level. These groups have saved Rs.50.12 lakhs. In the year 2003-04, for the purpose of mobilizing and imparting training to these groups, Rs. 607.24 lakhs is proposed to be spent. Family welfare schemes: In the process of catering to the Pension scheme for widows, the TDP Government under the rule of Nara Chandrababu Naidu provided Rs. 1.27 lakhs to poor widows as a Pension. In case of the death of an earner under the Family Welfare Scheme, their families received Rs. 10,000 in financial assistance from the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
