  1. Welcome Parents…

  2. 3rd Grade Behavior Plan Please check & sign your child's agenda each afternoon. Students will receive play money or coupons as  rewards for good behavior, class participation, being a good citizen, etc.  Class coupon Examples: (homework pass, hat day coupon, stuffed animal coupon, etc. $5  in Play money  earns a ticket to go in the Friday drawing for the Treasure Chest. Any donations for small toys are appreciated! We will be using a school-wide behavior system…we will communicate any unacceptable behaviors to you. More importantly, we will tell you about good behavior and successes!!!

  3. Overview • Study the core subjects of: math, science, social studies, English/Language Arts (ELA) • Attend related arts classes on a 7 dayrotation: music (1-2), library, PE (1-2), guidance, art • Permanent related arts schedule and class schedules will be posted on our web page when available

  4. Communication • Online webpages • E-mail/phone • Parent Notes • Class Dojo • Conferences (October 24 and March 19) • Report cards/Progress reports • Nurse Angie (please know that Nurse Angie is not allowed to treat any injuries that have happened outside of school) • If you want your child to have medication, you need to bring the medication into the nurse in the original package…including cough drops

  5. Grading Scale & Homework • 93-100 A • 85-92 B • 75-84 C • 70-74 D • Below 70 F

  6. Daily Procedures • Teachers will swap between classrooms each day. • Mrs. Ralston – Math & Science • Practice Multiplication drill daily…graded test on Friday • Mrs. Patterson – ELA & Social Studies • Read 10 minutes each week night!

  7. Homework and Absences • Homework: responsibility expected. Students may have to use part of recess to finish if not done at home. • Absentees will have 5 days after the date of return to make up work (per policy in handbook)…all makeup work will be sent home in a Make-up Work folder • Absent notes may not be written in agendas • Agendas need to be signed daily

  10. Cafeteria and Snack Student breakfast cost $1.50 Student lunches cost $2.75 • Students may bring  healthy snacks…no candy! • Students may bring water in a bottle with a secure lid…no water flavoring  • Students need to know their lunch numbers by fall break…it’s their computer password

  11. More info… • Classroom teachers are unable to make change, so please send the exact amount for field trips, fundraisers, etc. • Please send money in an envelope or baggie labeled with your child’s name, teacher’s name, and what it’s for. • Checks must have your teacher’s name on them.

  12. More info… • Proof of residency needed • Please return the Tennessee Migrant Education Program form…we have copies • Don’t forget to turn in those BOXTOPS • Does your child have earbuds??? • Light jacket or sweatshirt with their name inside to be left in locker

  13. Car Riders • Pull as far forward in the line as possible before their child exits the car. • Be prepared to let students exit their cars immediately • If their child needs assistance exiting the car they need to park in a parking space and walk them in the building (Does not apply to students with mobility needs).  • Adults should not exit the vehicles in the line.
