  3. Performance Management Workflow • Commonly, the HR practitioner schedules the review, and the information flows down to employees and then to managers. • Depending on your company’s setup, the HR practitioner may give managers the ability to schedule their own reviews.

  4. HR Practitioner Schedules the Review The practitioner assigns business units, locations, and so on. The practitioner selects the date of hire/rehire for eligibility.

  5. HR Practitioner Schedules the Review (Continued) • The practitioner assigns review dates: • Review due date • Manager’s deadline • Employee’s deadline The practitioner defines the review period. The practitioner selects the reason for scheduling the review. The practitioner can upload attachments. The practitioner chooses to send email notifications to employees and managers.

  6. Employee Notification of Scheduled Review The employee signs in to Employee Access and navigates to the Career > Performance Review page. The employee sees that a review is scheduled along with the review period and the deadline by which the employee must submit a self-assessment.

  7. Manager Notification of Scheduled Review • On the Team Summary page, in the Next Review field for each employee, the scheduled review date displays. • Click this date to access the employee’s Performance tab.

  8. Employee’s Performance Tab The manager’s review due date, as defined by the HR practitioner when scheduling the review, displays. The manager can print blank review forms for self and employee. Review Period11/1/12 – 10/31/13

  9. Performing Reviews in ADP Workforce Now • Start the review. • Select the review policy. • Perform the review. • Release the review.

  10. Stage 1: Start the Review • On the employee’s Performance tab, in the Start Action field, select Perform Review. • Click Start. 2 1

  11. Stage 2: Select the Review Policy In the Review Name column, select Annual Review. Click Perform Review. You can use the Perform a New Review section to perform unscheduled reviews. You use the Existing Reviews section to perform scheduled reviews. 2 1

  12. Stage 3: Perform the Review – Part 1: Enter the Review Date and Attach Documents In the Review Date field, enter the review date. Enter a review date that comes after the employee’s deadline and before your deadline. 1 The review dates previously defined by the HR practitioner when scheduling the review display. Stage 3: Perform the Review – Part 1: Enter the Review Date and Attach Documents (Continued) • To view the employee’s self-assessment, click View. • Attach documents, if applicable. • Click Next. The Contributors section lists the review contributors and the status of their reviews. You can attach documents, such as peer reviews, other managers’ reviews, and so on. 2 3 4

  14. Stage 3: Perform the Review – Part 2: Assess the Employee’s Performance In the Competencies section, select a rating for the employee’s performance relative to each job competency. Select a rating from the list. If you need descriptions of the ratings, click Review Scale.

In the GeneralComments section,enter generalcomments. In the OverallPerformance Ratingfield, select anoverall rating. Click Next. 3 4 If you are not ready to submit the review, click Save & Finish Later. Remember, if the employee has not completed the self-assessment, you save your work and finish the review once the self-assessment is completed. 5 6

  17. Stage 3: Perform the Review – Part 3: Associate the Review with Another Action In the Options section, identify whether there is a job change or compensation change, and whether you would like to schedule the next review. Click Next. 1 2

  20. Approval and Acknowledgment A submitted performance review may be routed for approval before it is acknowledged by the employee.

  21. Status: Submitted Once you finish the review, the status displays as Submitted.

  22. Status: Pending Approval If the review moves on to another manager for approval before going to HR, a status of Pending Approval displays.

  23. Releasing the Review for Employee Acknowledgment • On the employee’s Performance tab, in the Start Action field, select Release Review. • Click Start. 2 1
