History of Epic games • Epic games started in 1991, it was initially founded under the name of Potomac Computer Systems in 1991 by Tim Sweeney in Rockville, Maryland, releasing its flagship product, ZZT, the same year. During the latter portion of ZZT’s life span, the company known as Epic Mega Games and subsequently released numerous popular shareware games, including Overkill, Tyrian, Epic Pinball, Brix, Dare To Dream, Jill of the jungle. Epic Games, Inc. develops cutting-edge games and cross-platform game engine technology. The company is responsible for the bestselling “Unreal” series of games, the billion-dollar blockbuster “Gears of War” franchise and the groundbreaking “Infinity Blade” line of mobile games. Epic’s award-winning Unreal Engine technology has won dozens of awards and is available for licensing. Epic is continually recruiting top talent for its studios located in North Carolina, Washington, England, Utah, Poland, Korea and Japan.

  4. History of the other company's • People Can Fly • People Can Fly, an Epic Games studio, creates visually and technically superior action games for PC and console entertainment systems. Founded in 2002, People Can Fly developed Bulletstorm, an original, Unreal Engine 3-powered onslaught of ‘kill with skill’ gameplay and blockbuster moments released in 2011 by Electronic Arts. People Can Fly made its mark on the shooter genre with its award-winning Painkiller series of games for PC and Xbox prior to shipping Epic’s Gears of War for PC.
