  1. B tech Admissions 2020: All You Need To Know About Engineering Courses Are you aspiring to become an engineer? Do you dream of pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering or B.Tech course from one of the top engineering colleges in our country? Then it is essential for you to have an awareness of best engineering courses and B.Tech admission process, and other related details. However, please note that all the engineering colleges in India have quite a similar admission process for B.Tech admissions. But various engineering colleges and universities use different components to decide the eligibility of candidates for admission in B.Tech courses. The B.Tech course involves multiple specialisations such as B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech CSE or Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and many more. You can opt for any specialisation that suits your skill-set, interest, and aspiration. What is a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Course? Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is a four-year undergraduate engineering degree course. This professional undergraduate program is a candidates’ gateway to a career in engineering. In India, you can pursue a B.Tech degree in various specialisations. Some of the more popular ones are as follows: BTech CSE or Computer Science and Engineering Engineering BTech Mechanical Chemical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Electronics and Electrical Engineering Ceramic Engineering Petroleum Engineering Metallurgical Engineering Instrumentation Engineering By pursuing any of these specialisations, a student will have bright prospects to get into various kinds of careers, out of which computer science engineering is one of the most sought-after these days. It is also

  2. proven by the fact that the top engineering colleges in India command a high cut off exam score to enroll candidates in this program. In India, all technical courses like B.Tech, usually fall under the regulatory horizon of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The admissions to the best engineering courses take place through national, state, or institute-level engineering entrance examinations. The top engineering entrance exams which a large number of students take each year in India are: ●JEE Mains ●JEE Advanced ●VITEEE ●TS EAMCET ●MHT CET B.Tech Admission Process in India in 2020 The admission process in B.Tech courses for the academic session 2020-21 has begun in March/April. Most of the states hold their entrance exam process for undergraduate B.Tech admissions during that time. Admissions to B.Tech courses in IITs, IIITs, and NITs, is, however, different from regular UG engineering admission process followed in private engineering colleges. Likewise, the B.Tech admission procedure in one state may vary from another. Some of the main points about the admission process in B.Tech courses are explained as follows: Acceptability of the Engineering Entrance Exam Score Amongst multiple engineering colleges in India, the key difference one can find in terms of the BTech admission procedure is the acceptability of the entrance test score. Note that all the engineering colleges in India do not accept the rating of a one engineering entrance exam for their BTech admissions. Accepting the entrance test score or not would vary in every college, university, and state. JEE Main score is the widely acceptable entrance test throughout India, and the majority of the engineering colleges in the country accept JEE Mains score for admitting students in various BTech programs. Besides JEE Main, state-level engineering entrance exams are also common among students. But, usually, state-level engineering entrance exams are restricted to a specific state. Numerous Engineering Entrance Exams and their Score Acceptability Some states accept both national and state-level engineering entrance tests for giving admission in B.Tech courses. For example, B.Tech admissions in Maharashtra are mostly based on JEE Main or MHT CET scores. In Himachal Pradesh, about 15% of seats are reserved for the students with JEE Main score. The Himachal Pradesh government also holds a state-level engineering entrance exam used to fill remaining 85% of engineering seats saved under state quota. Direct admission without any Entrance Exam Many private engineering colleges also give direct access without asking for any entrance test score. Such admissions are treated as management quota admissions, and usually, the B.Tech course fees in this case for management quota admissions is little higher than that entrance-based admissions.

  3. Centralised Admission Process without Entrance Exam In the case of some states, there is no entrance exam held for engineering courses, and the admission is made purely based on grade 12 merit. In these states, there is a centralised admission process conducted for undergraduate engineering admissions. All students in that state must appear for that particular admission process to secure a seat under the state or concession quota.
