Finding background/biographical info • Dictionary of Literary Biography Complete Online • Provides reliable information on authors from many countries and centuries. • Oxford Dictionary of National Biography • Provides authoritative biographies of famous people in the UKwho have died. • Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism

Finding journal articles • MLA International Bibliography (MLAIB) • References to articles in 4,400 journals from 1926 onward • ABELL • British equivalent to MLAIB • From 1920 onward • Literature Criticism Online • Full text or selections of full text of essays and articles re-published in the following reference works: Shakespearean Criticism, Poetry Criticism, Drama Criticism, Short Story Criticism, and Literature Criticism from 1400 to 1800
