  1. Bailey Elementary School 2019-2020 SIP

  2. Goal 1 By June 2020, we will increase reading and math proficiency by 10% in grades 3, 4, and 5, as measured by the NC State EOG Assessments for the 2019-2020 school year, using the MTSS framework. (Goal 1 will include k-2, increase reading/math proficiency by 10%)

  3. Action Steps Actions: All staff will use data-driven decision making protocols, utilize the framework, incorporate rigorous instruction, and utilize district approved research-based interventions for all (Tier 1, and MTSS interventions for 2 and 3). Spiral instruction for 3, 4, and 5 given new resource challenge. Actions: All students at Bailey and in Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools will increase instructional time by using PBIS/Champs (incentives for academic and behavioral accomplishments/attendance), aligned with the district focus. Actions: PLCs will focus on increasing core instruction through use of rigorous, well-planned lessons. Admin and coach will contribute to PLC discussions (data, planning weekly). Actions: Instructional Teams use student learning data to identify students in need of instructional support or enhancement. (long term goal 80% Tier 1) Protocol MTSS

  4. Goal 2 By 2020, all students and staff will have have less than 10 absences (and tardies) throughout the school year. Actions: Counselor will recognize students for good attendance every two weeks, ATTENDANCE matters cards on display for every room, CHAMPS training to increase student motivation for attendance, DEPC attendance collaboration, staff recognition for good attendance, admin monitor via reports from secretary, PD plans will include attendance/punctuality (as data indicates).

  5. Goal 3 All students are assigned to teachers properly licensed and endorsed according to state requirements. We will improve teacher retention rates by supporting teachers in professional growth and development. Actions include: PLC meeting weekly collaboration, mentors, teacher appreciation monthly-counselor and PBIS, ongoing PD, personal feedback from supportive teacher walkthroughs, Coach support, admin meetings with new hires. Increase staff efficacy in focused areas (ex. 1st grade TRC, 4th grade math) PD plan (fluid)

  6. Goal 4 By June 2020, stakeholders will receive continuous communication on ongoing curriculum/program implementations and stakeholders will have a voice at Bailey Elementary. (proactively request familial feedback and incorporates feedback into school decisions). (Pre-K, K, and grade level transitions included) Actions: Pre-k and K transition, moving up nights, curriculum nights, teacher newsletters, 1st and 3rd 9 week parent meeting, parenting partners, parent interest surveys. Pre-K K transition plan
