Recommendations • Reactors and fuel cycles industry recommended NMMSS retire 80-Column reporting 1/1/2011. • Endorse industry switch over to XML reporting starting 1/1/2010. • The D-24 industry asked that versions be marked on the cover of D-24, i.e. version 1, version 2 with date • NRC licensees requested XML optional guidance “item level obligation tracking” by 1/1/2010. • NMMSS to review and comment on XML reporting proposal

Recommendations (Cont’d) • 741 Document • Industry asked NRC to confirm whether or not gross weight can be made an optional field. • NRC put an article in the NMMSS news notifying publication of proposed rules. • Unified uranium Dan Noss to chair working group to further develop concept. • ANSI Standard • NRC is working to issue red guide-5.29- adopting standard as written

General Comments • Improving general communication • Industry requested additional XML examples of NMMSS reporting be placed on D-24 or Web site. • Post classification RIS review letter to DOE site • Post the NMMSS reporting on there as well • Put the 80 column converter on NMMSS homepage for download • DOE and industry encourage to send NMMSS issues to Pete/Brian/Ray/Lesley

General Comments (Cont’d) • Post the conference presentations and attendance list on the Web site next week • Reestablishing the NMMSS Steering Committee with representatives from DOE sites and NRC licensees and report consumers • Over the next year review current NMMSS reports to eliminate ones no longer needed and add new ones as necessary

General Comments (Cont’d) • As soon as HSS deploys collaborative environment, we will establish a NMMSS collaborative environment with subsets for licenses and DOEs and a call center to track incoming calls, when they’re returned and to post performance metrics of the call center • NMSS will facilitate the return of DOE loan/lease material

  7. Final General Comments • Requested NMMSS training tailored to • Holders of small quantities of materials • Reactor operators • Fuel Cycle facilities • DOE sites

DOE Recommendations • Committed to provide training module and FAQs on foreign obligations and IEA reporting for newcomers • Committed to posting on the NMMSS Web site which reports are currently available from NMMSS and the schedule for all the remaining reports of when they’ll be in production • Request provide NMMSS reports in an Excel format • We’ll put together guidance on using XML report files
