Food Ordering System • Will implement and use the touch screens around campus
Project Goals Existing Problems Solutions • Long waiting time for food. • Walking around the Campus Center to find shorter lines or food items of interest. • Trouble finding coordinating with multiple friends. • Shorten waiting time by pre-ordering. • Centralize menu system to eliminate wandering. • Introduce generic SMS system in order to provide friends with a time and place for meals.
First Phase • Changes • Food selection area changed to plate perspective to eliminate confusion
2nd Phase • Changes • Way food is selected, animation to show selection • Bottom food menu, no sliding
Wi-Fi Connectivity • The nutritional information and wait times will be sent through NJIT’s wireless network.
Access • NJIT card login • The server will contain your past purchases and will suggest meals based on this as well as your dietary needs. • Screen when Idle • Screen comes up with its own nutritional choices depending on GDS options that day • Screen logs out • When screen left idle after login, system will kick you out to prevent security risk
Pipeline • NJIT Pipeline • Create Nutritional Plan • Set Preferences • Create payment options • Register friends so you can look them up to see what events they are attending
Calendar • Calendar will show food events and clubs that are meeting. • You will be able to send message/sign-up that you are attending. • See what friends have signed up to attend club/social events.
